Announcing the Fall 2019 Simon Family Scholarship!
We are pleased to announce that applications for the Fall 2019 Simon Family Scholarship will open on March 1, 2019. For this period, three artists will be selected to receive three classes per week at Gibney Dance for six months, plus a workshop or intensive of their choice. For more information on the scholarship and the application process, please explore this site.
The Simon Family Scholarship supports the development of New York City-based dance artists by subsidizing class and other training opportunities.
The cost of living in New York City increased to the point where pre-professional dance artists cannot afford the number of weekly classes necessary to hone their technical and creative skills. Workshops and intensives also often remain out of reach. This scholarship seeks to offset some of these costs by subsidizing dance classes, workshops, and intensives.
The scholarship seeks New York City-based applicants who are pursuing a professional career in dance performance, who are training consistently toward that goal, and who are unable to afford the costs accompanying a rigorous schedule of technique class, workshops, and intensives.
Visit the Benefits & Responsibilities page to learn about the structure of the scholarship, or the Application page to determine if you are eligible for the scholarship and to apply.
